The Importance of Hiring Veterans: Presentation at the Massachusetts Statehouse Library

Thanks to Robert Notch, his Massachusetts Office of the Veteran Advocate (OVA) team, and the Massachusetts Statehouse Library staff for hosting me to discuss the value of veteran talent. I hope organizations of all types find value in the message. Veterans are not a broken talent pool; they are a misunderstood and underutilized talent pool. Meeting them halfway with dedicated hiring programs, affinity groups, and onboarding and mentoring programs will pay off in spades. If we do this well, everyone wins – veterans, their families, the organizations that hire them, and – at scale – the nation’s economy and the nation’s security.
